Types of aromatherapy that we can use to activate our physical and emotional senses

Aromatherapy is a very essential technique to relieve our body and calm our mind and spirit. It also helps to improve our appearance and enhance our beauty.

Next we are going to list the types of aromatherapy that you can use depending on the function you want to obtain:

Holistic aromatherapy

In this type, essential oils are used that may be of your preference (eucalyptus, lavender, mint or Palo Santo essential oil). These oils are for massage in specific areas of the body.

In this type of aromatherapy direct and indirect inhalation is used.

In direct inhalation the patient sucks the essential oil, applying drops on parts of the body where its easy to smell, for example on the hands, neck or forehead. You can also do it using an individual inhaler, or by pulling 2 to 4 drops on a tissue and smelling it.

In indirect inhalation the patient sucks essential oil through a diffuser or an atomizer where water is put, and then 5 or 10 drops of oil to disperse in the environment.

The purpose of this type of aromatherapy is to treat physical and mental disorders. With the perceived smells you can relax, calm down, improve your mood, feel emotionally balanced, in itself, there are many positive emotions that manifest when we activate the sense of smell.

This type of aromatherapy is useful for reducing stress, fatigue, anxiety, worries and panic attacks.

Aesthetic aromatherapy

This is used to improve the appearance of our skin such as cellulite, wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, varicose veins, crow's feet and dryness.

In these techniques the oils are combined with bath salts, mud, lotions or dressings. Each session of these can take up to 90 minutes depending on the areas that are worked on.

The essential oils are absorbed in our skin 15 or 20 minutes after applying them, for this reason they relieve itching, redness, sagging and inflammation; that is, it restructures and regenerates the skin.

Another good option to take care of our skin with aromatherapy is to put 5 or 10 drops of oil in the bathtub. In the same way we can put 3 to 5 drops in the body cream we use daily. In both techniques over time we will realize that our skin looks smoother. With all this we are improving our physical appearance.

Clinical aromatherapy

This type is more professional and requires more time and elements. In clinical aromatherapy some techniques are combined, for example some essential oils with biological medicine and conventional medicine.

Here, a specialized doctor will be needed because he will treat diseases, for which diagnosis and an analysis of the treatment to be given to the patient should be made.

In the clinical aromatherapy oils are used that have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, anti fungal and analgesic properties, for this reason it is important to follow the aromatmogram technique. This is a sensitivity test, where is done with aromas instead of antimicrobial agents.

Clinical aromatherapy allows integrating therapy with essential oils in the orthodox practice of medicine. It allows to cure some diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, asthma, catarrh, constipation, menopause and problems related to the nervous system.

Essential oils help us feel good about ourselves. When you experience a new internal and external energy, all areas of your life reflect the same results.

These are also used in meditation, for that reason many people who practice yoga use essential oils in their classes.

It is also necessary to mention that not all essential oils are applied directly on the skin, especially those that have 100% purity. People should be asked if they are allergic or have any reaction to these products. It is for this reason that the oils are mixed with by-products.
